About Melissa Botha
Melissa has close to 20 years of teaching experience, working with children in both mainstream and remedial settings. After completing her teaching qualification, she went on to study further in special needs education, and later completed her BEd Honours.
Over the years, she has taught in a variety of classrooms and has also spent time working with BEd students at a tertiary level, supporting them as they prepared to become teachers themselves.
Melissa’s journey in education started with a love for learning, but it’s her work with children that has mattered most to her. She has come to really value how different each child is, and how important it is to understand what works for them as individuals.
She is passionate about helping children build confidence and make progress in their own time, especially when learning feels challenging. Her aim is always to create a calm, supportive space where children feel comfortable to try, learn, and grow.
